3.   Semester Schedules

All of the dates given will vary from year to year slightly, depending on the calendar year, so please make sure you go by the official school schedules.  The dates presented in this document are being given simply as general reference points.  Student final scores and attendance records should be turned in to the English department head teacher during the week following the exams.  Both the exam and the exam follow-up lesson should be included in the attendance totals.   Each term ends for the students with a school-wide cleaning day, and a closing ceremony.

Spring - Summer Term (April 1st to July 31st)

Examinations and the going over of the tests with the students is around June 19th to June 23rd.  School festival preparations and the festival itself (around June 25th to July 1st) will take much of the daily school time for the first few weeks of July.  Second-year students will not be in school from about July 10th to July 20th, due to their School Trip to America. Student vacations begin around July 25th.  Teachers have off-days from around August 5th to August 10th.

Summer Fall Term (August 18th to September 30th)

Examinations and the going over of the tests with the students is around September 21st to September 26th.  Some of your second-year students may be on homestay in America until around September 8th.  Students may have 1 or 2 days of vacation, from around September 29th to September 30th.

Examinations and the going over of the tests with the students are around December 13th to December 18th.  Student holidays begin around December 22nd.  Teachers have off-days from around December 29th to January 5th.

Winter -- Spring Term (January 1st to March 31st)

Classes begin approximately January 15th, but the class schedule (periods and times) will change on an almost weekly basis.  The reason for these changes is due to (1) the school ski trip (about February 21st February 23rd), (2) daily ski lessons, and (3) school entrance examinations (about the first 2 weeks of February).   Examinations and the going over of the tests with the students is around March 14th to March 19th.  Please note that 3rd year students will NOT have regular classes during this term, though they may come in individually for self-study and / or for tutoring from teachers.  The graduation ceremony and festivities will take place around the first Friday of March.  Student vacations begin around March 21st.
